Test Experience

VO2 max testing at Grand Health is a supervised, step-by-step assessment designed to safely measure your aerobic capacity and metabolic performance. Before the test begins, we review your health history, explain the protocol, and fit you with a comfortable metabolic mask that measures your oxygen use and carbon dioxide output in real time.

Testing is performed on a treadmill or stationary bike using a gradual, staged protocol. The intensity increases in small increments so your body can adapt as effort builds. Throughout the test, we continuously monitor your breathing data, heart rate, pace, and workload.

Most active testing lasts about 8–15 minutes, depending on your fitness level. You will be encouraged to continue as long as safely possible to reach a true maximum effort, but you may stop at any time.

After the test, we guide you through a short cool-down and review your preliminary results, including VO2 max, training zones, and metabolic thresholds. You’ll receive detailed data and practical recommendations you can use for training, performance, and health optimization.
