Katy Kearns, FNP

Katy Kearns is a Family Nurse Practitioner who has called Jackson home for the last 4 years. She grew up in a military family, which moved around frequently, and is from a little bit of everywhere. After completing a Bachelor's degree at Texas A&M University in Biomedical Sciences, she decided to pursue a career in nursing; she returned to school, earning her BSN from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She spent the first few years of her professional career as a registered nurse in critical care in Houston, Texas.

After getting married to her husband, Jeff,  they made the move to Jackson to be closer to some of Katy's Family, and fell in love with the mountain lifestyle, the outdoors and this amazing community. While employed locally as an ER nurse,  she worked on her Master's of Science in Nursing from Purdue Global University. After graduating,  she has transitioned to Urgent Care as a Family Nurse Practitioner.  Her favorite things to do include traveling, baking, reading, and doing anything outside: hiking, mountain biking, skiing, scuba diving, and paddle boarding.

As a part of Grand Health, Katy's priority at the clinic is to take time to appreciate her patients as individuals and have open conversations that allow them to make informed decisions about their health goals.  Her personal philosophy as a provider is helping patients find a balance between healthy lifestyle choices while still being able to do the things that make life worth living. A personal and professional passion is providing equitable care to women in all stages of life.
